Students Against Girl Trafficking

Mobilizing school students and teachers has become a very significant instrument in raising awareness on the issue of Girl Trafficking. Maiti Nepal has been involving school students because they are an important source of communication. Students/Children can be the best advocates for their rights and can provide an effective social support system for the survivors of trafficking and abuse.
Brief information of girl trafficking has been included in social studies of Grade 10. There is also a need to sensitise the subject teacher and provide as much information as possible. With the aim of creating awareness on girl trafficking among social studies teachers and students, a training program on different aspects of the problem is conceived. This programme was conducted in ten districts.
