Gainful employment opportunities for survivors of trafficking, high risk girls and women

Since 2004, Maiti Nepal has been exploring new livelihood opportunities for the survivors of trafficking and children and women at high risk according to their interest and aptitude, market demands and availability of employment opportunities. Survivors of trafficking and the high risk children and women ex-trainees from the previous group from the Prevention Home situated in Hetauda and Makwanpur Districts were trained under this project.
Girls and women have been provided training on professional and vocational courses such as hair dressing, beautician, floriculture, advanced sewing and bakery.
Job placements are based on performance and availability of positions in different fields. Maiti Nepal seeks placement for the trained girls and women in other related businesses and also provides seed money to start up an enterprise. Job placements and starting their own small enterprise potentially makes them independent economically and able to reintegrate within their society.
