  • God is there to help the helpless!!! - 2008-09-05

The virtual aphorism appropriately best fits in the case of four Nepalese girls who were rescued from heinous conditions of brothel in Sonagachhi, India. A boy, twelve years of age, trafficked for labor exploitation was also fortunate to be rescued along with the girls.
The girls below 18 years of age were rescued by Indian Police and liberated from slave-like conditions to accommodate themselves ultimately in the homely environment of Maiti Nepal.

The girls hailing from Pokhara, Nuwakot and Chabahil of Kathmandu had survived from domestic violence and poverty. Most of them had alcoholic father. On separate occasions, the girls had been trafficked to India via Nagdhunga check-post. They were promised of good job and luxurious life by their fake boy friends, which lust made themselves drowned into the ocean of tears and tortures in the brothel.
After passing about 3 to 4 years in the brothel, where they were stripped off all the vestiges of life, they were rescued by Indian Police and brought to Sukanya Home.
Consulate General of Nepal handed over the girls and a boy to Maiti Nepal, Birgunj on 28/08/008. The boy's family has been identified/located and is about to reunite shortly. The girls reached Maiti Nepal head office Kathmandu on 04/09/008

All the girls are determined to file cases against the perpetrators and punish for their brutal acts. They believe this is what those criminals deserves against the pain and tenderness those girls underwent inside the brothel.

"Trafficking in Human being is the extremity of brutality against Humanity
