- Twenty (20) children and women were rescued - 2006-05-08
Twenty (20) children and women were rescued jointly by Maiti Nepal and Rescue Foundation, Mumbai on 08 May 2006 from brothels situated in Pune and Mumbai, India. They are now back in Nepal at Maiti Nepal. We have been able to trace and locate parents of 2 of the children. They are now residing at Child Protection and Women Rehabilitation Home, Maiti Nepal, Kathmandu for further rehabilitation procedures of psychosocial counseling, medical services, legal support, identifying and locating parents, life skill training and reintegration.
