- Maiti Nepal might be the winner- Election held in Nepal for World Decade Child Rights Hero Award !!! - 2009-09-17
An election was held on 15 September, 2009 all over Nepal for world Decade child Rights Hero Award. Children from various schools of Nepal voted for their favorite hero. Every year World Children Prize is awarded to the person or organization who has made exemplary and remarkable contribution for the rights of children. The award is awarded by the Queen of Sweden.
Since the year 2000, the World's Children Prize has awarded children's prestigious prizes for outstanding efforts for the rights of the child.Maiti Nepal had received the prize in 2002 AD. The purpose of world children prize award is to empower children all over the world and to ensure their rights and secure future.This year, the prize will be awarded for 10th time. So far, 27 laureates have received prizes and have become the role models for children all over the world. Thirteen of these are candidates in the children's next global vote, which will determine their Decade Child Rights Hero. The winner will be declared on November 20, on the 20th anniversary of the UN convention on the Rights of the Child.
Maiti Nepal believes that the organization being in run for the Decade Child Rights Hero Award is a matter of pride and honour for Nepal itself.
