Women Rehabilitation Center Kathmandu

The Rehabilitation and Crisis Centre in Kathmandu is an ongoing project.  The key activities of the Centre include providing meals and shelter, arranging for non-formal as well as formal education, imparting vocational skills, facilitating medical check-ups, conducting counseling sessions, identifying parents, and encouraging residents to set up their own enterprises and become independent. 


Residents of this Centre form a heterogeneous mix. They include abandoned/lost children, survivors of domestic violence and rape, street children, and trafficked children and women.
The Rehabilitation and Crisis Centre has been able to support the physical, psychological, and educational upkeep of its members, and continues to provide a safe temporary shelter during their stay.


Rehabilitation and Crisis Centre is foremost a safe home to those who are in immediate need, and those who have been physically and / or psychologically scarred.  This Centre has been able to support the physical, psychological, and educational needs of its members and continues to provide safe temporary shelter during their stay.


Activities of the Kathmandu Centre

  • Providing food and shelter to the residents. 
  • Facilitating medical check-ups, hospital visits, and treatments to the residents. 
  • Conducting regular Non formal Education (NFE).
  • Providing Formal Education to children. 
  • Extending vocational training classes: knitting woollen caps, stringing beads of various designs, sewing, stitching, weaving Dhaka (a traditional Nepali cloth used for making caps, blouses), and knitting sweaters, socks, and skirts.  These activities are a continuation of past activities.
  • Offering counseling services, and psychotherapy sessions to children/girls suffering from various problems (physical and mental) especially severe trauma.  In addition, medical check ups, hospital visits, and treatments are other regular activities.
  • Identifying criminals, filing cases against them, identifying and tracing parents.
  • Encouraging girls to set up their own enterprises and self -sustainable.
