OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTION PROGRAMME 

  • Work with police and concerned agencies to intercept potential victims, and apprehend traffickers. 
  • To provide a safe transit shelter home for short stays to intercepted and released children/girls. 
  • To ensure safe passage to their respective villages.  
  • The district of Banke lies in the Mid Western Development Region of the country and has the district headquarters in Nepalgunj.
  • Banke covers an area of 2337 Square kilometres and comes under Bheri Zone. Banke consists of one Municipality and 46 Village Development Committees. 
  • It encompasses district of Salyan in North, Dang in East and Bardiya in West. It borders Indian state of Uttar Pradesh in South. 
  • Its population is 388, 792 and the density if population is 166.4 per square kilometres. Male population is 201181 and female constitute total population of 187611. Women share 1.3.1% seats in parliament, 15.74 in professional job, 4.54 in administrative work and 14.29% in income.
